About: We live on an island in the Puget Sound and we take a 'cruise ship' to from the mainland five days per week. "Cruise Ship", in this case, is code for the county ferry! :)
We've been on two Princess cruises to Alaska from Seattle. This will be our first experience on Carnival.
I've been to Europe before but my wife hasn't. We're both very much into the Mediterranean cruisines and enjoying the local culture.
Je parles bien francais (I speak French pretty well) and have been boning up with several conversational CDs in preparation for this trip. I also understand some Italian and Spanish but I don't speak them very well. Capice? Comprende? Comprenez? Buon! Bien! Bon! Ahhright!! Mary speaks a midwest version of English and she's also fluent in that indeciperable language known to husbands around the world as "wife speak".
We've got three grown daughters, one 18 month old grandson, and a granddaughter on the way (ETA: Dec 23, 2010). We're looking forward to the time when the grandkids are old enough to accompany us on a cruise.
