Event: Belfast Excursion_Causeway Coastal Route

Meet: At port after docking - May 6, 2018 8:30AM - Port Day Belfast

Organized by: Robert Lewis (CruiseDiscovery)

About the event: Here is some brief info on what the tour will offer: Pick up at dock by 8:30am, on to the Antrim coast road, thru the villages of Glenarm, Carnlough, Waterfoot, Cushendall & Cushendun. Then we're on the Torr Road (views of mainland Scotland), push on thru Ballycastle to the 1st stop, Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge (10-15 minute potty break), no rope crossing, as it's about 1 1/2 hour process. Then on thru Ballintoy White Park bay. Push on over to the Giants Causeway, stop for an hour to enjoy the Unesco World Heritage site, and the North Atlantic close up. Then off to a light lunch at Wee Cottage at Dunluce castle (12th century ruin) for fresh sandwiches or soup. Then off to Bushmills Whiskey distillery (1608) for a stop and sip, before driving back to Belfast and the ship. We should arrive back to the ship about 1 hour prior to departure time. Cost does not include admission to the Rope Crossing (won't have time anyway), the Giants Causeway has a visitor's centre that is 10.50gbp but isn't recommended, Dunluce castle has a 5gpb to enter, but you can see just about all of the ruins from the grounds quite easily. There are tours of the Bushmills distillery at around 7gpb, but there isn't usually enough time for a tour of the distillery. Excursion is around 8 hours, and covers approximately 155 miles in total. If you are interested in joining, please let me know.
